CURATED DIALOGUES STATEMENT.

For our Curated Dialogues Project we have both discussed each others ideas relating to the BA7 task and also our dissertation. 

Jane: 

• looking at weaving looms and the history of the shawl/textile industry in Norwich. 
• looking at reportage illustration both past and present. 

Chiara: 

• looking at beauty/fashion illustrations for magazine articles and potentially turn into a zine. 
• looking at handmade collage vs digital collage (dissertation)

The links that we found between our projects are:

• Old and new. 
• Historical and the present. 
• Fashion - shawls (past) scarves (today). 
• Articles in magazines (present) and the broadsides (past). 

To combine our ideas we would like to create an article in the form of a poster/broadside which would show the history of the Norwich shawl taking it up to the present day with how people wear/use scarves today. We think this would be a good way to show the links between our projects and produce something that the audience can engage with and make a historical topic more approachable.
