I experimented with adding translucent layers of colour over the top of my images and playing around with the contrast, saturation and exposure ever so slightly. I really like the pinky hued photos since they've become even softer and more ethereal looking than the rest.

WEDDING - 28.02.2014.
I just thought that I would play around with repeating images and changing the layouts to create a sequence. I quite like the top repeated image and the last one thats been divided into 3. These are all purely experimental though so I will see if this works with other images later on.
NONNA MAURA / THE BEACH - 28.02.2014.
Moving on from my previous post I played around with layering my images over each other with a more zoomed in look again and I chose to work with some photos of my grandmother this time. I find that this way of working with my photos allows me a lot more freedom of expression when it comes to adding colour and patterns. By using different parts of the same image I can create something which has more depth than by just confining myself to a whole picture.
WEDDING DEVELOPMENT - 28.02.2014.
I decided to go back to my wedding images and try out different ways of layering my photos together. I thought it would be interesting to layer different parts of the same image over each other so for these I took the cropped hand photo and merged it with the flowers. I really like the subtlety that this creates, giving it a dreamy/nostalgic atmosphere. I'd like to try this out with other photos to see what other effects it may give my work.

MATRIMONIO - 27.02.2014.
Since this project is all about my personal memories I thought it would be nice to include some photos from my parents wedding. They were originally in colour but I put them through Photoshop and played around with the contrast and saturation of the images. I really like the first image where I've blacked out my dad and just highlighted my mothers dress. My parents later divorced when I was 10 years old and I feel that this image shows this in a subtle way due to my father being hidden in the shadows. I also really liked the final image where I added the text at the top, its says wedding in Italian and is a scan from their wedding papers. I feel like this resembles a cover for a film or a book and it came out quite cinematic due to the high contrast against the simple strip of text.
COMMUNION - 27.02.2014.
I decided to play around more with the adding of selective colour to my photographs. I particularly like it when the photo is in black and white since it creates a nice contrast against the colourful shapes. I want to keep applying this technique to more photos and then try out cropping the images in various ways.
